Here’s the real reason why Zambrero will be heading out to WA

They are set to open 50 new stores.

Zambrero recently announced that the brand would be launching its expansion plans for West Australia to open 50 new stores in the next five years. The Franchise Warehouse was appointed to be the brand’s Area Developer in WA.

Read the full report here.

Below is a Q&A with Gordon Bain, Managing Director of The Franchise Warehouse.

QSR Media: Tell us more about the aggressive expansion plans in WA.

Gordon: We anticipate 6 Perth metropolitan stores opening prior to Christmas with a store a month planned for 2014 both metropolitan and regional

QSR Media: What pushed the brand to launch this?

Gordon: The acceptance of the product (& the brand) has been nothing short of phenomenal. The product is so flavoursome and healthy that once you try, you do so continually! We are keen to raise the brand awareness and have our product more available geographically in suburban Perth (NOR & SOR), and centrally in the CBD.

QSR Media: What made the brand choose WA to further expand Zambrero?

Gordon: The Franchise Warehouse is a WA based business and we have experienced the very strong acceptance and growth of the Zambrero brand here in WA and now want to spread our local success more widely across Perth & WA. The brand is also experiencing acceptance and success in the Eastern states and expanding quickly in Vic, NSW and Qld. The success of a recent store opening in Wagga Wagga was just incredible.

QSR Media: What are your forecasts/projections for WA based on?

Gordon: Subway has approx.. 135 stores across WA. We believe we have a similar business EXCEPT we have a lunch & dinner offer, therefore it has the capacity to drive much better top line sales. Our entire food offer is not only very flavoursome but is a very healthy option. Sporting clubs are now beginning to recommend us.

QSR Media: What does Franchise Warehouse bring to the table?

Gordon: The Franchise Warehouse has a “stable” of brands such as Zambrero, Cold Rock Ice creamery, Fish Frenzy, Charlie Lovett’s etc. I have been involved in the franchising space since the 1980’s, therefore have extensive experience in this space.

QSR Media: Who are you targeting for franchise partners?

Gordon: Our operating model is VERY simple therefore allowing the franchisees focus to be customer service, customer relations. Generally people fall in love with our food, so we are looking for franchisees that have experienced our food, enjoy the retail food business, but want to take advantage of an emerging and very exciting system. We are also very passionate about our P4P (plate for plate), Every burrito or bowl you purchase, we pay it forward by giving a plate of food to someone less fortunate.

QSR Media: Where else do you see growth?

Gordon: We are also focussing on the Regional cities of WA. Albany, Busselton, Bunbury, Geraldton, Broome etc are all places we will be sourcing franchise partners and establishing one or multiple stores.
