Caspar Tresidder, Retail Leasing Manager of Zambrero
On being surrounded by like-minded colleagues, international opportunities and the role of instinct.
QSR Media: What makes you excited about your position?
Caspar Tresidder: I love the brand that I am helping to grow and I'm surrounded by like minded people that want to see this business succeed. We're in our biggest stage of growth, BRW Magazine has named Zambrero the nation’s fastest growing franchise for the past three years (2013, 2012, 2011). The number of Zambrero restaurants has grown from 20 to 50 since 2012. With the opening of Hervey Bay, there are now 12 Zambrero restaurants in Queensland, 12 in the ACT, 10 in Victoria and WA, 4 in NSW and 2 in South Australia. It's exciting to be part of this growth.
QSR Media: What 3 goals are you focussed on?
Tresidder: 1) Making sure that the deals we are doing are sustainable for our Franchise partners for the long term.
2) Building and Maintaining strong relationships with landlords.
3) Building the Development schedule for the next three to five years.
QSR Media: What long-term changes are you planning on?
Tresidder: We are looking at opportunities internationally along with pushing the boundaries with our restaurant formats nationally.
QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?
Tresidder: Whilst research is important to limit exposure to risk, instinct and knowledge play a key role in site selection. It's important to evaluate what's worked and why. I also put myself in the shoes of our Franchise Partners about to invest a sizable chunk of my savings and evaluate if this would this be the right site for me.
QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?
Tresidder: Previous Property Management roles across rent collection, leasing and maintenance management. I have acquired communication and management skills that assist in negotiation and building relationships to get the best for the Company and our Franchise Partners.
