Below is a Q&A with Stuart Cook, CEO of Zambrero.
QSR Media: Tell us about the new kiosk restaurant, and what’s unique about it.
Cook: Zambrero’s new restaurant concept has a smaller footprint that can be built off shore and then put together within 12 hours.
QSR Media: What inspired the brand to establish a kiosk restaurant?
Cook: We wanted to provide a more affordable, flexible option for franchise partners to invest in and to also provide a smaller, efficient layout which allows us to go into smaller centres without the large overheads.
QSR Media: How do think customers will respond to this new concept store?
Cook: They will get to experience Zambrero's great food conveniently as there will be able to be more neighbourhood locations around the country.
QSR Media: Where else does the brand see growth?
Cook: Zambrero currently has 31 restaurants across Australia and another 170 in various stages of development.
QSR Media: Will the brand be establishing more kiosk restaurants in the near future?
Cook: Yes, Zambrero plans to roll out 20 kiosk restaurants within the next 2 years.
QSR Media: Any other comments?
Cook: We don’t believe anyone in the world should go hungry. We have found a vehicle (which just so happens to be a Mexican quick service restaurant group) through which we can empower a social movement dedicated to the provision of food for those in need through Plate 4 Plate.
By finding something everyone has to do (eat) we give them the opportunity to do their little bit to help the people who don’t enjoy the same privilege. We believe we can put an end to world hunger. This is what puts a fire in our belly (no it’s not the jalapenos)..
