Wendy’s Supa Sundaes franchisor in Administration
Martin Lewis and Tim Mableson have been appointed as Voluntary Administrators to Wendy’s Supa Sundaes Pty Ltd, and have assumed responsibility for its affairs.
Lewis and Mableson came from the corporate recovery specialist firm Ferrier Hodgson.
“The company was no longer licensed to use Wendy’s intellectual property,” Lewis said.
The Administrators have been advised that the current licensee of the Australian Wendy’s brand, Supatreats Australia, will be working with franchisees and landlords to restructure the business and resolve the current situation.
The Wendy’s brand throughout Australia, however, will continue to operate as “business as usual”.
A company spokesman said Supatreats Australia – which operates the Wendy’s brand in Australia – is continuing to support the brand and its franchisees to ensure smooth continuation of the business.
“The Wendys brand is expecting to trade strongly throughout Australia, with exciting plans for new products and expanded offerings later in 2015,” he said.
