QSR Media: What makes you excited about your position?
Goodman: As the steward of two much loved iconic brands, the Foodco business offers such a rich and exciting platform for any new leader. Having now spent 4 weeks meeting some incredible and passionate colleges and franchisees, I am even more inspired.
What are your key business philosophies?
My approach and philosophy starting in any business is to hit the ground listening, focus on the established core values, know your customer, and know your team.
What goals are you focused on?
My immediate focus is learning what is important to the business, the team, our franchisees and our customers. From there, time will tell…
What long-term changes are you planning on?
It is really too early to make any changes. However, my immediate focus will be the core business, working with our team and franchisees [to] emerge in a post-COVID world, keeping the customer at [the] centre of everything we do.
What previous positions have prepared you for this one and how?
Having spent over 20 years in customer service, my experience has been from the grass roots of retail. I would therefore suggest that a combination of all previous positions have prepared me for my time at Foodco by learning skills such as customer service, building a strategy, learning to succeed or also how to fail, and fast, and lastly, reliance, just as our business and franchisees have endured the last 24 months.
