Convenience of restaurants continues to be a "key challenge and opportunity" for brands: Subway ANZ country director Chris Churchmichael
Get to know the executive before he steps in our Leaders Panel at the QSR Media Sandhurst Fine Foods Conference and Awards.
Chris Churchmichael joined Subway in 2018 as Director of Operations for Australia and New Zealand, bringing more than 30 years of experience across traditional QSR, fast Casual and coffee. In January 2019, Chris was appointed Country Director for Australia and New Zealand and is now stewarding Subway’s brand transformation initiatives, including an enhanced menu and national restaurant redesign, to meet the evolving needs of QSR customers.
Chris developed a passion for quick service restaurants early in his career during his time as a crew member at McDonalds. Prior to joining Subway, Chris worked across national operations, training and management for national and global brands including Gloria Jeans Coffees, Grill’d Healthy Burgers, McDonalds and Red Rooster.
QSR Media: What led you to be part of the multi-site restaurant industry?
Churchmichael: I pursued a career in the multi-site restaurant industry after enjoying the learnings and opportunities that opened for myself and fellow staff in a this dynamic a fast-paced environment.
What particular industry issues or developments are you currently thinking about?
In our increasingly on-demand world, the convenience of restaurants continues to be a key challenge and opportunity for brands: as brands we need to consider how we improve the convenience and accessibility of our restaurants and how we utilise innovative new technology to improve the experience for our guests.
What are you most excited to do during the QSR Media Conference and Awards in Sydney?
