Zambrero, Stop Hunger Now, Foodbank team up to feed needy
Zambrero, partnering with Stop Hunger Now and Foodbank Australia will aim to create 55,000 meals for people in need on October 16.
The event will involve 220 volunteers and is part of Plate4Plate World Hunger Day.
Zambrero spokesperson Gordon Bain said Perth was yet to see a charity event like this one.
“Stop Hunger Now holds these events all over the world, but this is the first time one has been held here in Perth,” Bain said.
“Zambrero are extremely excited to be able to team our Plate4Plate Day with World Hunger Day and Stop Hunger Now, so we can all work together and make a real difference.”
“Some of the Perth Glory players will be coming down to give us a hand and they will be standing shoulder to shoulder with volunteers, including staff and franchisees of Zambrero’s 20 Perth stores, who have given up their free time to help out.”
The meals from October 16 will be provided to vulnerable people in Australia and across the seas in the Philippines, where people are still suffering from the devastating effects of the 2014 typhoon.
