Soul Origin Parramatta supports homeless
Soul Origin Parramatta stepped up to support disadvantaged locals at the Western Sydney Homeless Connect Forum on October 12.
Held at at Parramatta Town Hall, the event, now in its third year, aims to give the most vulnerable people of western Sydney free meals, free haircuts, dental and health check-ups and shop for clothing, toys and books at no cost.
Soul Origin Parramatta gave out 1000 salads, served over 300 cups of coffee, and provided staff to volunteer at the event from the two stores at Westfield Parramatta. Soul Origin Parramatta franchisee Sherwin Djamil said their light, fresh salads were enthusiastically received as a refreshingly nutritious and healthy option.
Djamil said. “At Soul Origin we’re all about being refreshing, healthy and lively and we wanted to reflect this at the event. It was a bright sunny day and the music was pumping, there was lots of dancing, clapping and cheering in the queues for our salads. The energy was amazing.”
“The team and I feel very privileged and grateful to have had the opportunity to be involved. We all loved giving back to the community, engaging with the locals and serving beyond our extended customers. It’s very fulfilling, and part of our duty to our local community. It is all part of Soul Origin’s mission and values.”
