Piccolo Me, DoorDash donate $250,000 in vouchers for NSW frontliners
The chain is calling on other businesses to support medical workers.
Piccolo Me has partnered with DoorDash to deliver $250,000 in cash vouchers to NSW frontliners.
“Now, we are encouraging other businesses to show support for the workers, who dedicate so much to help those in need and often put everyone else’s needs ahead of their own,” co-founder Roy El-Hachem said in a media release.
"It has been an extremely difficult year with the rise in Covid cases, especially for our frontline responders who serve our community. We simply wanted to show our deep gratitude to those who protect and serve Australians every day with a Piccolo Me Coffee as a gesture of support.”
The initiative sees DoorDash offering $20 gift cards to Sydney’s frontline workers that they can use to buy food, groceries and other essentials on a pick-up or delivery basis via the app.
Piccolo Me, in addition, is offering a free coffee to all frontline workers, available exclusively via DoorDash, for pickup or delivery from one of their 24 locations across Sydney.
“We hope this gift card contribution, whether it be used for a coffee and breakfast, groceries, or dinner after a long day, makes life a little easier for the incredible Frontline workers to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude”, added Rebecca Burrows, general manager at DoorDash Australia.
