Krispy Kreme Perth breaks global record
Perth opening is the biggest first day sales in the company’s 77 year history.
Krispy Kreme Perth breaks global record, selling 73,200 donuts on its opening day last November 26.
According to the chain some residents camped overnight in anticipation of the launch, including 19-year-old University student, Favian Lin, who slept outside the store for three nights to secure his place as first through the doors to win a year’s supply of doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme Australia CEO, Andrew McGuigan, said he was overwhelmed by the show of support, and thanked Perth residents for making it the most successful store opening in history.
“We are absolutely thrilled and humbled by the show of support from the Perth community. I want to thank everyone who participated in the day, especially those who patiently queued for so long to pick-up orders for family and friends.
“I’d also like to thank our dedicated staff; we had almost 100 staff making and serving customers doughnuts, coffees and shakes all day and they did an outstanding job."
