TGI Fridays operator launches contactless tap-to-order system

The tech was designed in-house.

Signature Hospitality Group, the operator of TGI Fridays in Australia, has launched a contactless tap-to-order technology as restrictions for dining out ease.

After being seated, guests will use their own smartphones to tap the new devices set up at the tables, opening up the relevant website or MYFridays app, allowing them to order their food directly to their seats.

The device automatically enters the venue location and table, streamlining the ordering process and limiting contact.

Customers with a MYFridays membership will also be able to use this tap-to-order feature to gain additional loyalty points and rewards.

According to the group, the technology was designed in-house to “complement and support the existing team structure and to create a safer and more compelling dining out experience for guests.”

The system will also be utilised in the group’s The Sporting Globe venues.
