McDonald's bets on gamification with Mini Games launch

The games are played on the mymacca’s app.

McDonald’s is giving customers the chance to win free or discounted menu items through the launch of their Mini Games featured on their mymacca’s app.

Available throughout February, the Mini Games consists of the Totes A-Maze, with a goal to navigate a labyrinth made of fries; Lucky Dip, with a goal to dunk a Chicken McNugget into one of the chain's signature sauces; and Mini Mini Golf, with a goal to score a hole-in-one off a put-put golf tee.

The fast food giant is also offering VISA cash prizes for customers playing the Macca’s Run, a time-based game where players run through a McDonald’s-themed obstacle course. To access this particular game, customers need to make a purchase in the mymacca’s app.

Customers who have won prizes can head to the nearest McDonald’s restaurant to redeem prizes.

The mymacca’s app is available for download on iOS via the Apple App Store and Android via Google Play.
