DoorDash launches Weblinks programme, ‘Saturdays' initiative
Restaurants with 5 or fewer locations will benefit from 0% commission until end-2020.
DoorDash is rolling out a couple new initiatives in a continued bid to support Australian restaurants.
The platform’s Weblinks programme allows all their restaurant partners to add an online ordering button to their website, along with pre-designed call-to-action buttons.
Restaurants with five or fewer locations are not required to pay commissions on any order placed through their weblink, either for delivery and pick-up, until the end of 2020.
DoorDash's Local Restaurant Saturdays initiative, meanwhile, will waive delivery fees on all local restaurant orders every Saturday throughout June. Rolled out in Australia due to “popular demand” from local restaurants in the U.S., these promotions over the last 2 months are said to have helped drive over 1 million incremental deliveries for restaurants.
Last March saw the platform reducing commissions by 50% and offering free delivery for customers.
“We have been working closely with our restaurant partners to understand how we can help them get back on their feet, and what’s important to them is the ability to easily manage their digital ordering solutions to reach their own customers. Starting with the Weblinks Program and Local Restaurant Saturdays, we plan to roll out further initiatives to continue supporting the restaurant community during the recovery phase,” DoorDash Australia general manager Thomas Stephens said in a media release.
