Texas Chicken New Zealand trials 90-second drive-thru guarantee

The chain is running the service at ts two Rotorua restaurants until 30 June.

Texas Chicken New Zealand promised drive-thru orders at its two Rotorua restaurants will be ready in ninety seconds or less.

The promotion kicked off last week and will run until 30 June. The chain says the guarantee is available during lunch (12pm-2pm) and dinner (6pm-8pm) periods at its stores in Fairly Springs and Lynmore.

Once guests have paid for their meal, they will be able to watch an LED timer in the Texas Chicken drive-thru window as the 90 seconds counts down. If the timer reaches zero before their food arrives, they will receive a voucher for a free piece of fried chicken during their next meal.

“Speed and accuracy are both absolutely vital when serving fast food – our customers want their fried chicken and sides fresh, hot and without delay,” Texas Chicken New Zealand country manager, Allan Simons said in an announcement.

Next month, Texas Chicken will be celebrating four years since the brand landed in New Zealand from the US. The chain recently made available its Hot Wings, marinated in five different types of chillies.
