Manu Feildel joins the QSR Media Sandhurst Conference & Awards
The renowned French restaurateur will be joining the event’s annual Leaders Panel.
Chef, television presenter and food industry leader Manu Feildel is taking part in the QSR Media Sandhurst Conference & Awards, offering his thoughts on the current situation that’s affecting the hospitality industry.
Feildel joins the conference’s annual Leaders Panel, which already has Craveable Brands CEO Karen Bozic, Guzman y Gomez founder and global CEO Steven Marks, Subway ANZ country director Chris Churchmichael and Woolworths food service development head Michael Brown.

QSR Media: What are some of the industry issues you're thinking about at the moment? What are some developments you're seeing that the industry should take a closer look at?
Obviously, the hospitality industry as a whole has suffered great loss due to the current COVID-19 situation but what has become apparent is how many other industries and companies this affects. Some great initiatives have come from this time where many restaurants have found other ways to still serve the public or use their business in a different way.
I think moving forward we need to look at how businesses that supply and are reliant on the hospitality industry are supported more along with them. This is from farmers through to equipment suppliers and cleaners as we don't know how long the restrictions may last and to what degree it is important that the industry finds a way to survive.
What can we expect from your participation at the QSR Media Sandhurst Conference & Awards? What are some things you're excited to do there?
I was very excited to be invited to join the panel of the event and sit with Steve [Marks] from GYG [Guzman y Gomez] who has been a long time mentor and friend of mine, he has some great insights into the hospitality world and multi-site business(es). Also, to discuss the future of food retail and how this is changing and will more so through the COVID-19 period. I will share my own experiences and stories in the industry and what I have learned along the way.
