SumoSalad collaborates with celebrity chef Pete Evans

The partnership is a campaign for Australians to say no to unhealthy lunches.

The “Say No to Fried Foods and Lardy Lunches” campaign is described by SumoSalad as a major protest movement against unhealthy lunch-time eating habits, targeting Australians who eat at food courts.

“The food court is a great place to stock up on lunch, but it shouldn’t be to the detriment of your health or in fact taste – in fact lunch should provide the fuel to help get through the afternoon,” said Luke Baylis, Managing Director of SumoSalad.

The collaboration, according to Pete Evans, aims to raise awareness of the need to eat healthily by helping Australians become more aware of hidden ingredients. The Say No campaign will highlight how much unnecessary fat, salt, and sugar is hidden in many foods.

As part of the campaign, six wholesome salads created by Pete Evans for SumoSalad will be rolled out nationally in stores beginning 1 February 2012.
