An inside peek at the Lord of the Fries LTO
Its called the Maharishi burger.
We find out about Lord of the Fries (LOTF) latest LTO in this Q&A with the brand:
QSR Media: What inspired you to launch Maharishi Burger LTO?
LOTF: We launched the Maharishi burger because we wanted a healthy vegetable burger with lots of taste. We have been working on this patty for several months and feel its full of flavour and will appeal to a lot of the community - whether they are vegetarian or not.
On a recent trip to India we sampled a lot of the food offerings at various restaurants. We pick and chose the ingredients we thought would work over here and we are very happy with the outcome.
QSR Media: What kind of things, as a business, did you need to think of when launching this LTO?
LOTF: With Limited Time Offerings we are always looking for something that will entice people to come in-store. We had the Kahuna burger over the summer period. The Kahuna has pineapple, our mock chicken patty and soy bacon. Burgers like the Kahuna are something we bring to our store once a year and there is a huge demand for them to stay on the menu permanently. Our Big Mark burger was a previous LTO that won numerous food awards and the customer demand was so great that it now has become a permanent menu item - it’s one of our biggest sellers too.
QSR Media: How are customers responding?
LOTF: Customers have been loving it. There is a large percentage of customers who like veggie patties and this gives them another option. We currently have one burger on the menu with a veggie patty, the Guru Burger. The Guru burger patty is quite different, it is not breaded and is squishier. At the moment we are really digging the Maharishi burger…we may introduce this patty as the Guru burger patty. We will quiz customers on this; we have a strong social media following and they are VERY vocal!!
QSR Media: How are you promoting the LTO?
LOTF: We promote our LTO’s through social media, in-store posters and suggestive selling.
