Crust launches Chicago Deep Dish pizzas
Available in Italian Sausage and Vegetarian Antipasto varieties, the Chicago Deep Dish pizza makes Crust the first Australian pizza takeaway chain to offer a taste of Chicago.
“Many people get confused between a Deep Pan and the Chicago Deep Dish pizza. Other Australian pizza chains sell Deep Pan pizzas that have a thick, bready crust and are generally the same size as a regular pizza,” said Creative Chef for Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar, Peter Augoustis.
The Chicago Deep Dish pizza will be 9 inches in diameter containing thicker layers of ingredients. He explained, “Crust’s Chicago Deep Dish pizzas follow the authentic Chicago-style recipe, based on a thinner crust but has more height as the crust makes a bowl with the ingredients inside.”
Augoustis said they have been researching and testing the Deep Dish pizza for months and are excited to bring Australians this style of pizza.
