Soul Origin releases new Rainbow Range
The 'healthy fast food’ brand launched its new range of Rainbow salads.
The range features five vibrant salads, each strongly themed around a particular colour, based on the nutritional concept of “eating the rainbow” and all are available to be mixed and matched.
Purple Haze contains purple cabbage, beetroot, eggplant, blackcurrants and black rice, topped with walnuts and pomegranate. Purple foods are full of the heart-healthy antioxidant anthocyanin, which reduces the risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease.
Red Rocket is brimming with tomatoes, red capsicum, radishes, radicchio, red onion and paprika roast potatoes, topped with cranberries and red wine dressing. Red foods are rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that boosts heart health, memory, urinary tract health, and immunity.
Moroccan Sunset is a mix of carrots, roasted sweet potatoes and red rice mixed with Moroccan spices and topped with raisins and diced oranges. Orange foods are known for containing carotenoids like beta-carotene, which helps keep membranes and eyes healthy.
Golden Sunrise has yellow squash, corn, chickpeas, roasted potatoes and yellow cherry tomatoes, topped with yellow capsicum and turmeric dressing. Yellow foods also contain carotenoids such as lutein, which may help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration, helping prevent blindness.
Green Machine combines green lentils, freekeh and kale, and is topped with edamame, wasabi peas and matcha dressing. Green plant foods contain many different cancer-fighting phytochemicals, and can be an excellent source of folate, vitamin K, potassium, carotenoids and Omega-3s.
“Different coloured foods play different roles in the body so 'eating the rainbow' is a simple way to fuel and nourish,” Soul Origin’s nutritionist and ambassador Lyndi Cohen said.
“We don't believe healthy food should be complicated or boring. We have designed the rainbow salad menu using all the colours of the rainbow, to help our Soul Origin foodies fill up on plenty of the good stuff like fibre, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.”
The Rainbow Range is the first new product line Soul Origin has introduced since the company began in 2011. At the same time, Soul Origin has also launched a range of cold-pressed juices: Green Hopper (kale, ginger, apple and pear); Beetilicious (beetroot, carrot, apple and spinach); Amber Tonic (carrot, ginger, apple and mint); and Orange Everything (100% orange).
Soul Origin’s salads start at $8.50; and cold pressed juices are $4.50 each for 250ml.
