Hungry Jack's adds Vegan Cheeseburger to their permanent menu
The move is driven by the growing number of Aussie vegans.
Hungry Jack’s has announced that their Vegan Cheeseburger is now a permanent fixture in their menu following a successful trial phase.
The burger features melted vegan cheese, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, vegan mayo and two veggie patties made up of carrots, peas, potato and capsicum.
The burger chain, which has more than 400 outlets across the country, cites the growing trend towards veganism and ‘plant-based eating’ were the ‘driving force’ behind the move, adding that research from Roy Morgan said that 10% of Australians live a meat-free life.
“We are committed to making sure there is something for everyone at Hungry Jack’s, so we are very excited to offer a great value option to the growing number of vegans around the country,” Hungry Jack’s chief marketing officer Scott Baird said.
“We received a terrific response during the trial phase and we are confident Australians will embrace the Vegan Cheeseburger, just as they did the Veggie Whopper, which was introduced 17 years ago and is still going strong.”
