Guzman y Gomez launches shiitake mushroom filling

This is the chain’s first plant-based filling in three years.

Guzman y Gomez (GYG) has introduced shredded shiitake mushrooms to their menu, the chain’s first plant-based filling since 2018.

In collaboration with Fable Food Co, the filling is seasoned with Mexican flavours including smoked paprika, garlic and onion.

To celebrate the launch, GYG has introduced the Chimi Shredded Mushroom Taco, priced at $5.

“For years and years, GYG have been tasting and trialling every plant-based option on the market and we’ve finally found the one with Fable. You will not find a more delicious, clean plant-based filling than our incredible Shredded Shiitake Mushrooms,” GYG founder and CEO Steven Marks said in a media release.
