Grill’d teams up with Heston Blumenthal, Fable to dish out plant-based burgers
The range is headlined by the $35 ‘Heston Fable Burger’, which is available strictly through bookings.
Grill’d has partnered with Fable to launch four new plant-based burgers, two of which were created by Michelin star chef Heston Blumenthal.
The range is headlined by the $35 ‘Heston Fable Burger’, which is available strictly through bookings and limited to only 4,000 burgers in select restaurants in WA, QLD and VIC.
The exclusive item, inspired by Peking duck pancakes, features Fable’s mushroom patty complemented with hoisin sauce, Japanese slaw and lightly grilled tofu.
Customers are told to book via grilld.com.au/heston starting 3 August, with seatings to commence from 8 August to 22 August. NSW residents can also register their interest online when dine-in restrictions are eased.
The limited-edition burger will be served alongside Grill’d’s signature chips with white miso mayo and either a wine pairing, local beer, or non-alcoholic beverage. It will also be the first time one of Blumenthal’s burgers will be served outside his restaurants.
“It has all of the umami, all of the satisfying things that you would expect from a burger but there’s no meat in it. Mouth-watering, 100% natural, satisfying and just delicious,” Blumenthal said in a media release.
Blumenthal also created the Fable Spicy Cheeseburger, made with aged cheddar, Spanish onion, Dijon mustard, dill pickles, egg mayo and Heston’s fire roasted spicy tomato sauce. Rounding out the menu are the Fable Truffle and Fable Southern BBQ burgers. These three items are available across all restaurants, delivery and takeaway.
“It’s the next step in our mission to discover a whole new world of flavour and challenge the status quo with innovative, healthy and mindfully made products,” said Grill’d founder Simon Crowe.
