Bakers Delight unveils healthier options for children with chia range
The bakery chain introduced its chia range of bread loaves and fruit buns.
Bakers Delight’s Marketing Manager, Nikki Price, said: “The common perception and often a reality for many parents is that it’s really hard to get their kids to eat healthily. We wanted to create a product that was healthy yet tasty so both parents and their children would benefit."
“The fruit buns, which are packed with chia seeds, dates and raisins, and have no added sugar, are a big hit with parents as they offer a healthy alternative to common lunchbox snacks and after school treats such as biscuits or slices.”
Mum of two, Vanessa Howard said: “I actually couldn’t believe how much Hannah and Harley loved both the fruit bread and the fruit buns! They couldn’t get enough and even compared them to hot cross buns, which are their favourite sweet treats.
“Getting them to eat healthy foods, like most parents with young children, is a daily chore. I didn’t think it would be this easy to get them to eat wholegrain bread as they usually only eat white. It’s great to know that they are getting a range of vitamins and protein from a simple fruit bun without any processed sugar.”
All containing vitamins such as magnesium, iron, vitamin D, folate and zinc, Price said the chia range is important for growing children and adults alike.
The Omega 3 rich chia range can be found exclusively in participating Bakers Delight stores around Australia.
