Below is a Q&A with Phil Colburn, Managing Director of Red Rock Noodle Bar.
QSR Media: What is the thinking behind the new promotion with Jetts and "On the Pulse"?
Colburn: The idea is just the next step from working with Corey Parker for the last 12 months plus driving the 97% fat free the last couple of years.
We have a nutritionist ("On the Pulse") on board that has worked with us and Corey Parker on the recipe to keep them healthy.
The competition is a good way to promote the fact that Red Rock Noodle Bar is a very healthy take away option when we are on the run or having that weekly night out.
With Jetts Capalaba on board as well, that is great heading into summer to get back on board and make sure we are looking after ourselves better.
QSR Media: Will you be running it in other locations?
Colburn: Yes all stores in our franchise system will be running promotion. With the Jetts membership you can use that anywhere in Australia.
QSR Media: What's the response been so far?
Colburn: We are in our first week. We ran salads this time last year for the first time with just the 2 and did ok.
Some stores are triple last year in numbers sold and the customer response has been very positive, particular for the Chicken and Mango salad.
QSR Media: You are front and centre of this campaign with the blogging, what are some of the upsides and downsides of this?
Colburn: Yes I am, I think it is important to walk the walk etc.
I have let myself health wise get away from me over winter, and have been on the road a bit for work as (we expand our business) so this is a good chance to show that anybody can do it.
Even though Corey Parker is an elite athlete with some help and knowledge we can all look after ourselves with better health choices.
Downside, I need to ensure I do not get too side tracked form corporate events lunches etc. and get off track.
It will be good to show everyone we all go through small struggles in life and not to give up when it sometimes gets to hard.
QSR Media: Any other comments?
Colburn: We all want to live long and healthy lives for ourselves and for our kids. A bit of knowledge goes a long way.
Rather than grabbing a Burger or Fried Chicken grab a Red Rock Noodle Bar Salad or one of our items off the 97% menu.
As part of a healthy balance diet Red Rock Noodle Bar is a great option.
