Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses bags gold award at 2016 Foodservice Australia

The brand won national awards for its ‘Tiddly Oggies’ at the 2016 Foodservice Australia, Baking Associations Australia, Best Aussie Pastie event in Sydney.

Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses won a Gold Award for its traditional pastie as well as six other silver and bronze awards for their Traditional Cornish, Cornish Spinach and Sweetcorn, Cornish Beef Madras, Chicken Chorizo, Greek Lamb, and Wholemeal Oggies.

Competition judge, John Humphrey, said Ferguson Plarre’s traditional pastie ticked all the boxes.

“It had the right balance of meat and vegetables. The vegies were tender, the seasoning well balanced and the flavour was excellent,” he said.

To mark Ferguson Plarre’s 115th year of baking, the brand is also launching of a whole new celebration range of flagship Tiddly Oggies to be released onto the market in coming weeks.
