Check out what could be big for QSRs next year.
QSR Media spoke with Melissa Webber, Creative Director of Holy Cow! Design & Advertising, to get her thoughts on industry predictions this coming 2014.
Below are Webber's three predictions for 2014.
1. New visual language
It's time for a new wave of graphic expression to hit the QSR industry. A certain 'sameness' has pervaded many food retailers in metro areas and this does nothing to distinguish them in such a competitive marketplace. It is exciting that there are many new retail precincts being developed in 2014 so ideally that will give rise to some innovative visual language.
We believe that many QRS's will embrace social media tool, Instagram and recognise it for the fabulous platform that it is! By maintaining a natural but carefully curated Instagram feed, food brands can promote their offer for very little cost and rapidly build a loyal following. It harnesses then delivers everything that is great about our very mobile world!
This year, we have been lucky enough to work with OzHarvest to create a charitable Christmas campaign with one of our retail clients. Next year, I hope that many QSRs make contact with OzHarvest to arrange the daily collection of surplus food that would otherwise be wasted so it can be delivered to those in need.
