McDonald's launches leadership development programme

The LEAD initiative will be done annually for McDonald’s restaurant employees across Australia.

McDonald's has officially started the inaugural edition of its Leadership, Experience, Accountability and Development (LEAD) Program, an initiative designed to help high performing restaurant crew and managers develop their skills for their future careers.

The fast food giant's programme gave forty of McDonald’s employees from restaurants across the country the chance to help solve challenging and business-critical briefs for the business. Participants were in Sydney last week for the program’s launch and to meet their mentors who will will help them develop deeper insight into the business.

“At McDonald’s, people are our greatest asset and we aim to provide all our employees with the foundations and skills for a successful career, whether that’s with us or elsewhere," Jennifer St Ledger, Chief People Officer of McDonald’s Australia said. "The LEAD Program is designed to help us continue to bring opportunities to our crew and managers who over the last year have continued to excel and always bring with them an appetite for learning and success.”

"By pairing up with other restaurant crew and managers from around the country, as well as my mentor, I know I’m sure to learn plenty through this program,” Daniel Clancy, one of the participants chosen from McDonald’s in Forster, added.
