Deliveroo appoints Meridian Energy's Ed McManus as new CEO

The move comes about a month after Levi Aron stepped down as country director.

Deliveroo in Australia announced that Ed McManus will be its new chief executive in the coming months.

Currently the CEO at both Meridian Energy and Powershop Australia since January 2016, McManus is expected to lead in increasing restaurant selection on the platform, improve operations and offer work and support tailored to restaurants and riders.

The company currently works with 11,000 restaurants across 13 Australian cities, with 8,000 riders and reaches 11 million Australians. By the end of the year, the company says it plans to extend this to 10,000 riders and 17,000 restaurants.

“The scale of the opportunity ahead is huge and one the whole team is looking forward to taking on. Deliveroo wants to become the definitive food company and so we will make sure we cater for every food occasion and bring people the amazing food they want, whenever and wherever they want it,” McManus said in a statement.
