U.S.' Jon Smith Subs to open first store in Australia this coming May
The chain’s upcoming Docklands store looks to capitalise on the influx of tourists visiting the Melbourne Star.
Almost a year after announcing its plans to enter Australia, American restaurant chain Jon Smith Subs announced that they will open their first store in Melbourne.
The new 77-square-foot sub shop in Docklands has 68 seats, 12 of which are inside the store. The planned grand opening, which will take place on May 3, will see customers being given an opportunity to sample the chain’s products and chances for VIP guests to win prizes.
Open from Monday to Sunday from 9am to 9pm, Jon Smith Subs hopes to capitalize on the influx of tourists visiting the Melbourne Star.
“We saw Melbourne as the ideal city to launch the first Jon Smith Subs restaurant,” Michael Cooke, Jon Smith Subs’ brand leader said. “With its vibrant atmosphere, The District Docklands is the perfect place to showcase our delicious subs."
Jon Smith Subs is a brand member of United Franchise Group's affiliated companies. In a previous interview with QSR Media, Cooke said the chain will be expanding in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, among others.
