Red Rooster relaunches two WA stores after food, store safety probe
Employees at the two stores took a food safety retraining session.
Red Rooster announced the reopening of its two WA stores under new management after it has undergone food and store safety checks.
The chicken chain earlier closed its Waypoint and Forrestfield stores following “isolated” incidents pertaining to food and store safety issues.
“Red Rooster has been part of the WA and broader Australian community for over 45 years and whilst this isolated incident has been disappointing, we are excited to be reopening these restaurants,” CEO Clint Ault said in a statement.
The chain underscored its customer and team safety as its “highest priority.”
It contacted regulatory bodies to review both stores to ensure they are compliant with health and safety standards, as well as its auditors completed an assessment of all facilities.
The chain said it has removed and disposed of all potentially impacted products, as well as “thoroughly” cleaned and sanitised all equipment and facilities.
Moreover, employees at the two stores took a food safety retraining session.
“[T]he crew members in both restaurants will be offered continuity of employment under new management and our suppliers will re-commence the delivery of fresh produce,” Ault added.
