Misschu sees growth after repositioning itself as the ‘healthy hawker'

The Vietnamese chain reported 9.6% like-for-like sales growth in the first four months of their latest financial year.

Miss Chu has announced they have repositioned the brand to a healthy-eating concept in serving vegan and gluten-free options.

“Consumers are increasingly conscious about the healthiness of their food and we are seeing a growing need for flexibility in dietary requirements. MISSCHU offers a host of low carb, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options, so we hope to be able to tick the boxes for our customers as well as offer really delicious food.” managing director Gabi Machado said.

Offering Vietnamese food, their new ‘Healthy Hawker’ concept feature are a bowl of pho, noodle salads and a range rice dishes. The chain also said that they are now using mostly unrefined, low glycemic index (GI) and paleo palm sugar in its sauces and marinades. Their rice is wholegrain and low GI red rice as well as organic quinoa instead of the usual white rice.

The chain claims that their beef is naturally grass fed, hormone and chemical free and the omega-3 rich salmon is fresh sashimi grade.

Misschu also reported 9.6% like-for-like sales growth in the first four months of their financial year. They intend to expand the network to 40 to 50 tuck shops around Australia in the next 5 to 10 years.
