McDonald's breaks ground for its largest retail project in Australia
The new restaurant is providing 200 jobs to the local community of Brisbane.
On 28th October, McDonald’s celebrated the Grand Opening of its newest restaurant in Queen Street Mall, Brisbane.
The Honourable Grace Grace, Minister for Employment, and Lord Mayor Graham Quirk opened the restaurant and joined guests at the family fun day. Other notable attendees included Trevor Evans MP, Member for Brisbane and Brisbane Councilor Vicki Howard.
The Grand Opening kicked-off with a number of special events and entertainment throughout the day, which included cheeseburger giveaways, a live band, and a chance to meet Ronald McDonald.
Queen Street Mall licensee Tanya Mulcahy said, “I’m delighted to be opening the Queen Street Mall restaurant. The team and I have been looking forward to this day for months and are excited to bring the newest McDonald’s offering to Brisbane.”
The new restaurant is providing 200 jobs to the local community, from crew people to management roles, further cementing McDonald’s ongoing commitment to the Brisbane community.
The new Queen Street Mall restaurant utilises a unique design that incorporates materials that represent Queensland and fit with the CBD aesthetic. It also features a McCafe, which serves barista made coffee, and a PlayPlace for the kids, as well as self-serve kiosks and extensive dining space.
The new McDonald’s restaurant can be found at the corner of Queen and Albert Streets, Brisbane City.
