Guzman y Gomez seeks five franchisees in upcoming east coast locations
The move is part of the brand’s goal of building over 30 new restaurants in the coming 12 months.
Guzman y Gomez (GYG) said it is looking for potential franchisees to own and operate five upcoming drive-thru stores in the east coast.
In an announcement, the fast food chain said they are launching stores in Hervey Bay, Port Macquarie, Mackay, Cairns and Tamworth — all of which are opening between August 2021 and July 2022.
The move is part of GYG’s goal to build over 30 new restaurants in the coming 12 months, reflecting an earlier announcement of plans to have up to 60 drive-thru restaurants in 24 months. The chain has opened 23 domestic restaurants since the start of 2020.
“Usually we have franchisees on a waitlist for two years or more before we make locations available so I’m really proud to make these 5 restaurants available to young entrepreneurs wanting to make their mark on the world,” Guzman y Gomez founder and CEO Steven Marks said. “Seeing our current franchisees build their businesses, growing their teams and watching them succeed is what drives us and these 5 new GYG locations are exceptional opportunities.”
GYG now has more than 150 restaurants across Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United States.
