Why restaurant players need to be more open in sharing data

San Churro CEO Giro Maurici hopes there will be a win-win situation from it.

As more business players bank on data, San Churro underscored the need for restaurants to be more open on sharing data or information.

“The game has changed and we need to be a lot smarter about the way we do our business… Our industry needs to be a lot smarter about the competitive forces that are buffeting us,” CEO Giro Maurici told QSR Media.

Restaurants have been operating on their own silos, “scratching our heads wondering about the problems we are facing,” he noted, which has held them back.

Maurici cited how landlords, as well as food aggregators, are informed of restaurants’ sales and traffic, whilst chains themselves, he claimed, “don't know where the big bulk of our customers now... where the sales are going in and otherwise.”
