TheFork Festival runs from 15 February to 28 March.
The restaurant industry is one of the sectors that was hit the hardest by the pandemic and the resulting lockdowns over the past few months. In order to support restaurants and increase footfall over the near term, online restaurant reservation platform TheFork will hold one of Australia’s biggest dining campaigns of the year.
TheFork Festival is an initiative aimed at helping restaurants attract new customers and boost revenue during and after the festival by offering diners up to 50% discount on their final food bill. The event will run for 6 weeks from the 15th of February till the 28th of March.
According to Gary Burrows, Country Manager at TheFork Australia, this is a way of incentivising diners to get out to restaurants. “With reservation numbers down year-on-year across Australia, the Festival provides a much needed increase in business for all Australian restaurants,” he adds.
Restaurants who participated in previous festivals attest to seeing 11x more reservations than those that did not participate, and 4.5x more reservations than the weeks prior to the event. It is also a great way to onboard new customers, with 97% of festival bookings coming from first-time diners.
“It’s been a challenging time for the hospitality industry and having empty tables is the most expensive element for any restaurant. Through our event we’ll see customers venturing out to support their local restaurant scene whilst enjoying great food for incredible prices,” says Gary Burrows, Country Manager TheFork Australia.
TheFork encourages all Australian restaurants to participate in the Festival, even those that do not currently use their platform. All they have to do is sign up for the event and enjoy the benefits of being one of the many participating restaurants.
