QSR Survey 2H22 - Supply chain pressures ease but wages drive further price rises

A collaborative Jarden/QSR Media QSR Media survey of 12 quick service restaurant (QSR) operators over the past two weeks shows the outlook for 2022 remains challenging. While 2022 sales growth was upgraded to an expected +7.6% y/y (vs 4.1% previously), cost pressures remained intense with weighted-average cost inflation of 8.4% y/y. The key driver of inflation was a 9.6% y/y increase in COGS but wage inflation also increased materially to 6.3% y/y.
