Plastic-free packaging that's completely customisable

When you’re running a quick service restaurant, food presentation is just as important as food safety.

And, thanks to Instagram enjoying a meal is becoming increasingly more visual – which influences how people perceive your brand.

When it comes to deciding on packaging requirements, it’s important to consider functionality, safety, and how it looks. So, it’s good to know that there are customisable packaging options available for quick service restaurants. BioPak can work with you to bring your packaging needs to life with bespoke BioCane packaging options made from custom-moulded pulp. So, what are the benefits of BioPak custom sugarcane pulp packaging?

Good for business, good for the environment
Food packaging and presentation is a big part of the customer experience for quick service restaurants. With consumer awareness and support for sustainable-living practices growing by the day, good-looking, eco-friendly packaging is essential. In fact, Mad Mex owner Clovis Young said that eco-friendly business practices have been an important focus for Mad Mex right from the beginning.

“Everyone should be aware and conscious of how they're treating the environment, and we want to do our part whether that's on-site recycling, the use of non-bleached paper packaging or our biodegradable serving trays – it all adds up to being a good citizen,” Young told QSR Media.

Great for food delivery services
It’s no secret that food delivery services are fast-gaining popularity. The challenge is to deliver food that looks and taste as good as it does in the restaurant. Styrofoam boxes that retain moisture are not so good for this, but breathable BioCane helps preserve that freshly made appearance as well as maintaining temperature. Plus, if you have meals with different components that need to be kept separate – like sauces – this can be achieved with BioCane compartment containers.

Lightweight and durable packaging
BioCane packaging is sturdy and provides a moisture and grease resistant surface that allows the packaging to retain liquids and food for a longer period of time. Plus, it can come in any size or shape thanks to our in-house design team who assists our customers in producing customised sugarcane packaging.

They’re microwave safe and oven proof up to 220°C for 20 minutes, and refrigerator and freezer safe. BioCane packaging is sturdy and versatile and can handle a wide variety of hot and cold foods, and the bowls and sauce cups have a secure, leak-proof lid – making the BioCane range perfect for food delivery services and takeaway.

A more sustainable choice
Let’s not forget about sustainability. BioCane packaging is made from reclaimed sugarcane pulp, also known as bagasse, a rapidly renewable resource and a by-product of the sugar production.

The BioCane range includes bowls, plates, trays, containers, clamshells, and sauce cups – offering a more sustainable replacement for conventional plastic and polystyrene takeaway containers and single-use foodservice packaging.

Plus, they’re certified home and commercially compostable to EN13432, AS4736 and AS5810 standards, and can be recycled in the paper co-mingled recycling stream. While there are other sugarcane packaging options on the market, BioCane is the only range that is certified home compostable.
