Survey reveals Australians favourite fast food
The chains were judged in eight categories.
Red Rooster is the best-rated quick-service restaurant in Australia by overall satisfaction, according to a report by Canstar Blue.
The brand was rated five stars for value for money, customer service, and taste and freshness of ingredients/meals. It however, scored low on website and app experience.
Second is Taco Bell who was ranked five stars for value for money, presentation of food, and store & layout presentation.
They are followed by Grill’d, Roll’d and Subway.
The biggest chains by restaurant numbers, Hungry Jack’s and McDonald’s, were at the foot of the rankings, failing to impress in all categories.
Canstar Blue surveyed 2,626 Australians for their feedback on the quick service restaurant(s) they’ve purchased and consumed food from a quick service or fast food restaurant, excluding pizza, in the last three months.
The eight criteria were Value for money, Customer service, Variety of food options, Speed of service, Website and app experience, Store layout and presentation, Presentation of food, and Taste and freshness.
The research was finalised in March 2026 and published in April 2026.
