Former Retail Zoo CEO joins YOMG after River Capital investment

The burger chain is looking to grow following fresh funding.

River Capital has made an undisclosed investment in Yo My Goodness (YOMG) and appointed former Retail Zoo CEO Nishad Alani to lead the quick-service restaurant chain's next phase of growth.

Aside from Alani, Andrew Rennie also comes on board as chair, bringing with him his own experience as chair of The Cheesecake Shop and as former CEO of Domino’s Australia and Europe.

“We are delighted to build on the success of our acquisition of The Cheesecake Shop in 2022. YOMG has built a well-loved and differentiated brand, with significant potential for further expansion. We look forward to partnering again with Andrew Rennie and working alongside Nishad, Zeni and Justin to support the next phase of growth.”

Joshua Ludski, Head of Strategic Investments at River Capital, said the brand has significant potential for further expansion.

Founded in 2013, YOMG is a quick-service restaurant business operating 16 stores across Victoria and Queensland. The brand serves premium burgers and frozen yoghurt.
