Cheers!: Rolld’s new NSW State Manager develops alcohol offering

As Vietnamese QSR chain continues to expand, it has appointed a new State Manager for New South Wales.

With background in retail leasing and shopping centre management, Quintin Mansell is now the brand’s new NSW State Manager.

Below is a Q&A with Quintin Mansell, Rolld NSW State Manager.

QSR Media: What makes you excited about your new position?

Mansell: The ability to add value to such a young brand.

Being part of such a passionate team.

Using the skills I've picked up over time to positively influence the Rolld business.

QSR Media: What 3 goals are you focussed on?

Mansell: Securing strong and long term sustainable locations for Rolld in Sydney.

Working with Bao, Ray & Ange on further developing our design.

Working with the Operations team on further evolving table service plus our alcohol offer (watch this space!).

QSR Media: What will you do differently in this position?

Mansell: My view is success in business is heavily dependent upon understanding and pricing risk; therefore assisting in positively influencing decision making. 

Thinking like our customer – what does the Rolld customer want?

How can we be better?

QSR Media: What changes are you planning for?

Mansell: We're in the process of embarking on expansion into both Sydney & Brisbane.

Tweaking the Rolld design to better accommodate high street locations and casual dining precincts that traditionally demand table service and a stronger alcohol offer.

Further developing the brands identity to ensure further success for Rolld and our partners.

QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?

Mansell: 2 ears / 1 month – listen more than you talk, allot can be learnt from your peers.

Why do tomorrow what can be done today.

Think big picture, where possible make decisions with the end game in mind.

QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?

Mansell: Being part of the management team of The Malaya at King Street Wharf 10 plus years ago; they truly know their customer and have engaged with them over a generation, businesses like that stand the test.

6 years with CB Richard Ellis as a specialist Sydney CBD retail agent, working for Josh Loudoun who's now the Head of Real Estate for Apple in Asia, I learnt a phenomenal amount about retail and quite simply what works and what does not.

I've recently completed a masters in commerce which was hugely rewarding and overall has given me skills beyond what I’ve acquired within past roles plus the drive to seek out opportunities such as Rolld.
