QSR Media: What goes behind the development of the lower carb pasta?
Herman Brot: A couple of years ago, Christian Coenen, a German baker by trade and founder of Herman Brot, created and launched Herman Brot Lower Carb bread. Before taking the bread to market, Christian was his own guinea pig and is living evidence of the benefits of the bread. By incorporating the lower carb bread into his diet, Christian who was incredibly obese with Type 2 Diabetes, lost 60kg over 9 months and cured his diabetes.
After the development of the bread he found out that bread and pasta are pretty close relatives and share a lot of basic ingredients. So he developed the Herman Brot Lower Carb Pasta. As a baker by trade, creating bread and pasta is not difficult for Christian – they are basic food. The challenge, which he has mastered (and he cannot divulge how he does it), is to create two products boasting such impressive nutritional values.
