Obee lets diners book tables online

Offers more features than just table reservations.

Obee is a web based reservations management system designed specifically for restaurants, pubs, hotels and cafes.

The system is designed to streamline operations in the following ways:

  • Automate online bookings through your website
  • Systemise table allocations or make manual allocations with ease
  • Confirm bookings with automated SMS or Email reminders
  • Database your customers for dining history and better service
  • Build a marketing database for you automatically

According to its founder, Owen Parry, Obee's system is quite comprehensive and usually tailored to suit each venues specific requirements. The reservations management is easy, he notes, "bookings in to Obee is intuitive and floor staff usually pick it up in a matter of minutes."

The system is designed for individual hospitality venues right through to multi-site franchises. The firm go as far as customising the online booking form to match the look and feel of a certain website.

Parry tells QSR Media that the firm has recently introduced two new major features to the system.

First is credit card storage, payments and deposits.

"We were hearing of a common problem in the hospitality industry recently where a number of restaurants were beginning to regularly receive [more] no shows. Although our system helps restaurants (and customers) with automated sms reminders to confirm bookings, a number of establishments were still having too many empty tables," he explained.

"Their response to this was obviously to collect credit card details and charge a no show fee. We decided to respond to this request and restaurants using our system are now able to take credit cards and store them securely with our platform."

Adding, "some venues use this feature on every booking whilst others only require it for larger groups."

Second is event booking forms.

Parry noted that with Obee's recent integration with a payment gateway, restaurants using the system can now get bookings and collect payments all online automatically.

"We have a number of venues who are now running ad-hoc or monthly events and collecting pre-payment all up front. They can send out an email campaign and within a few hours easily book out an event on a wednesday night when it would otherwise be quiet. Furthermore they have payment up front."

Some well-known chains the firm has worked with include Grill’d, Fonda Mexican and, Meatball & Wine Bar.
