FLAT offers stable and perfectly-aligned table bases for QSRs

Technology and innovation continue to drive progress in the Quick Service Restaurant industry, as brands push for more convenience and comfort for their customers.

FLAT Pty Ltd has invented, patented and commercialised a range of table bases that solve 2 major problems for the foodservice and hospitality sectors – the stability and alignment of tables.

With FLAT® table bases, the feet underneath the table instantly and automatically adjust to the surface and lock in place. They adjust again whenever the table is moved, keeping it stable. FLAT table bases also allow users to bring tables together and perfectly align adjoining table tops.

The products provide customers with an improved customer experience, potential cost and time savings and huge improvements in seating flexibility. Consequently some of the world’s largest restaurant chains have now adopted FLAT as their table base of choice.

Independent surveys carried out by market research firm YouGov found that 86% of Americans would find sitting at a wobbly table irritating or distracting. A further 56% went on to say that if a wobbly table spoilt their experience it would make them reconsider returning to that establishment. With repeat business being critical to all QSR businesses, it is easy to see why wobbly and misaligned tables could be significant issues for restaurants and chains.

FLAT table bases are available in in a range of cast iron, stainless steel and aluminium designs.

Cast iron bases are traditionally popular due to the classic design and lower price point.

Aluminium table bases are common in establishments where tables are designed to be portable and light for use in outdoor areas. Black, anthracite and EP finished bases are made for outdoor use, even in coastal areas.

BX and CX bases have the optional flip top mechanisms, which allow users to flip the table tops on their sides each night, which saves space if they are stacked away. Auto-Adjust BR and DS stainless steel products can be found in establishments at the higher end of the market.

In the coming months, FLAT also plans to release its first stackable table base, which allows users to ‘nest’ the table bases together when stored.
