Nando's launched the new PERi-PERi salt to Woolworths supermarkets nationally.
The new formulation PERi-PERi Salt is now the same recipe of Nando’s restaurants around the world and features the signature ingredient, PERi-PERi chilli – a unique African Birds Eye Chilli grown in Southern Africa, the birthplace of Nando’s.
Marketing Manager for Nando’s Grocery Australia, Stefani Dethan said the new salt has undergone rigorous taste-tests and the final product is bound to set tongues alight.
“Nando’s PERi-PERi salt has long been sprinkled on chips in our restaurants, but now that it’s available in supermarkets, we hope shoppers will have great fun experimenting with how else they can give their food a flavor kick. It’s a perfect addition to breakfast eggs, will bring a spark to an otherwise boring sandwich, a great seasoning for popcorn or can even be used around the rim of a cocktail glass,” she said.
In addition to the improved taste, Dethan explained the packaging has also undergone a facelift, giving it a fresh look.
“Our salt now comes in a pale blue, 50g tin which is far too pretty to keep in the cupboard. Designed to showcase its bright personality and fire, customers will be proud to let it take pride of place on the table or kitchen bench,” she added.
The product is also suitable for gluten-free, vegan, kosher and pareve diets, giving customers peace-of-mind that they previously may not have had.
The Nando’s PERi-PERi salt will be launched through a Facebook campaign and supported with trade marketing point of sale materials, designed to navigate people from Nando’s famous sauces into the spices section.
