Wendy’s launches online ice cream cake ordering system

Wendy’s launches online ice cream cake ordering system

The website dedicated to the franchise’s ice cream cakes acts as an online ordering system to cater for the needs of 245 Wendy’s stores across the country.

Initially offering a selection of 12 cakes which can be tailored to include a favourite ice cream flavour, www.icecreamcakes.wendys.com.au is now live and may be accessed by customers who will be guided through a few simple steps to choose and order their cake online before being able to nominate their preferred store location for collection.

Wendy’s CEO Rob McKay said, “Our priority with developing this online capability was to develop an effective, simple system which wouldn’t impinge on day-to-day franchisee operations because customers approaching counters in person always need to remain a priority.”

The online ordering system has been developed by Wendy’s and is unique to the franchise, combining the Shopify and Secure Pay mechanisms. McKay added that the system ensures online cake orders are processed in a timely manner, and at the same time allows their franchisees to serve both online and in-store customer groups.
