Sweet victory for Wendy's ice cream flavours

Following recent wins, Wendy's Vanilla Bean flavour has bagged the top Champion Award in the Ice Cream Competition Award at the 2011 Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards.

The Vanilla Bean flavour was awarded the Ice Cream Champion award and a gold medal together with another Wendy's ice cream flavour, Wicked Chocolate, in the ice cream category.

Wendy's also recently won in this year's Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards, Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show and the 2011 Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show.

“The Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and aim to celebrate Australia’s finest food, so it’s terrific news that Wendy’s has picked up the Champion Award in the ice cream category,” said Wendy’s CEO Rob McKay.

“Vanilla Bean, with its smooth creamy texture and rich vanilla taste, is one of our flagship flavours –
and this accolade proves just why it is so popular.”
