Pizza Capers expands into Sydney for the first time

Pizza Capers expands into Sydney for the first time

The gourmet pizza brand plans to put up 25 new stores in 2012.

Doubling store numbers in the past couple of years, the expansion will take Pizza Capers stores to more than 130 stores in Australia and Singapore.

Pizza Capers co-founder Scott Geiszler said, “With the business off to a great start in Tasmania, Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne, it’s now time to address the huge demand we’ve been receiving out of the Sydney market.”

According to Geiszler, several times a week they receive emails, letters or Facebook posts from customers asking Pizza Capers to set up in Sydney. He said they also have fielded a steady stream of enquiries from independent pizza operators who want to convert their pizza operation to the Pizza Capers brand.

“Over the past five years, we have focussed on other states due to the limited supply of real estate available in Sydney. However, with appropriate real estate now in greater supply, it’s an exciting opportunity to grow the Pizza Capers brand,” explained Geiszler.

Six stores will be open before Easter, including Miranda which opened in December 2011. Pizza Capers will then ramp up activity with two stores to open per month until the end of the year.
