Find out why Foodco, RFG and other QSR's are using Task Retail Technology for their POS systems:

We talk to Owen Scott, National Sales Manager, Task Retail Technology and find out what differentiates their POS systems and why being an Australian owned and operated company makes such a difference. We put the following questions to Owen:

1/. What sets Task Retail Technology apart compared to other POS solution providers in the QSR industry?

We are at the cutting edge of technology innovation, using the latest web platforms to provide a true Internet powered enterprise solution, light years ahead of the rest.

Our software suite incorporates far more than just a state of the art POS system. It comes as standard with web delivered BI, inbuilt digital media, loss prevention, inventory, and multi brand loyalty amongst many other features.

Our architecture sets us apart, with all stores hosted on our private Pacnet network; we are able to deliver pro active real time support to our customers from TRT’s Global Command Centre.

Our reporting is second to none, real time and web delivered, available on smart phone platforms. We provide a library of over 200 standard reports and if the data you need is not there, we will turn around custom reports in under a day without extra charges.

2/. Why do franchise owners like your systems?

Franchisees are alerted via sms or email for any ‘exception’ that happens in their business, such as the cash drawer being left open for too long or a fraudulent transaction. They too can see real time data from their stores on the web.

Franchisees can opt in and out of multiple voucher promotions configured by head office. Each voucher produced has a unique barcode and can be redeemed by scanning at the terminal.

With our up selling and customer display marketing, along with a super fast interface at the terminal, franchisees experience an immediate improvement in average transaction value, weekly sales and customer counts within their stores.

3/. What are you doing for RFG and Foodco?

We provide a centralised point of control and configuration, for all brands on the one hosted database, delivering real time KPI’s that are vital to head office, such as royalty remittance and store benchmark reports.

The infrastructure live view within xchangeglobal allows their IT managers a view of all terminals and peripheral devices on the network, snooping and viewing real time transactions and monitoring if devices are on line.

The marketing teams take advantage of configurable up sell at the customer display, voucher campaigns and a fully flexible loyalty engine. Loyalty is driven by a points based system and you can also have tiered loyalty rewards, so if a member has reached platinum they can receive extra discounts and free products.

4/. How does your system provide a return of investment for the store owner and/or head office

Our existing customers have proven when comparing stores with xchangexec to stores without, that there is a clear lift in average transaction value, amount of customers served, and an increase in total sales, delivered through the use of our sophisticated technology.

From the speed and effectiveness of interaction with the customer at the store level, through to the efficiencies of data analysis and integration, and in tandem with loss prevention and inventory control, our system provides a clear edge for all users involved.

5/. You are an Australian company, why is this advantageous?

One of our main competitive advantages is that we dictate our software development and technology roadmap. This gives us far more responsive agility to meet the needs of our client base. In fact, many of our customers involve themselves in solution think tanks and come up with newer and better ways for us to tailor our software. We respond to this feedback with fast and effective development.

Because all the terminals across our vast network of customers are on the same version, our entire customer family benefits from the roll out of enhancements and additional modules which are provided regularly and without charge on top of standard maintenance.

Competitors are often hamstrung by being re sellers or subsidiaries of software companies, thereby not controlling their client’s user experience. We have recently expanded off shore, opening an office in the US and taking our Australian technology to the international stage.
