Soul Origin releases statement on suspected contaminated tuna products

On Monday, four people suffered from suspected food poisoning after eating tuna salad at a Soul Origin takeaway near Town Hall station in Sydney's CBD.

The store later released the following statement regarding the incident:

"Soul Origin is aware that the Public Health Unit of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District has been notified of potential health issues in relation to tuna products sold at one of our city stores.

Soul Origin was contacted Monday afternoon by the NSW Food Authority and immediately withdrew the product from sale at all our stores and have sourced alternative suppliers.

The NSW food authority is carrying out further investigations in relation to this matter and Soul Origin is assisting the authority with their investigations.

Established in 2011, Soul Origin maintains the highest hygene standards across all our 18 NSW stores."
